Last night marked another fantastic Community Connect event. We feasted on an amazing Taco Bar provided by Moe’s! Nicole Yaksh, APC, NCC, CCTP shared incredible insights into Anxiety and Depression in children, teens and families. We learned that anxiety is a universal human experience. We also discussed some things to look for when anxiety moves into a detrimental area that may need attention outside home or school. Nicole brought practical strategies to manage anxiety that can easily be learned and used immediately. We all left with a resources that we can implement today with ourselves and our families. Additionally, Nicole provided us with user friendly language to help our children to identify emotions, label stress, and understand how stress affects our bodies. I am finding the "Mapping Feelings" and "Safe Place Visualization" strategies particularly interesting! Please join us next week as we view the documentary, Screenagers, Growing Up in the Digital Age.
Please register on our website. www.westcommunityconnect.com Pizza dinner and childcare are provided. We can’t wait to see you there!
